About the Role

This position is part of the Technology and Innovation (T&I) division. The role primarily provides technical support to our Sales and Marketing department for existing and new products. A vital role component is developing and maintaining technical relationships with key customers within a defined geography and applying technical knowledge to identify solutions to diverse customer issues. The position also performs varied laboratory assignments to provide technical support to Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product Stewardship and provides applications development support to Product Development.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, or allied field.
  • 0-5 years experience working in a commercial manufacturing organization
  • Plastics/Coatings/Paper industry formulating and processing experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of coatings formulation and colloidal science preferred
  • Hands-on experience with experience coatings processing, testing, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Experienced in building good relationships with internal and external partners, preferably within a commercial environment.
  • Proven presentational skills and competent public speaker.
  • Versatile being able to work in a team, work independently, or take a leadership role as necessary to complete tasks.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical relationships with key assigned customers within a defined geography. Visit customer sites and maintain records of visits. Answer technical questions from the Sales team regarding INEOS Pigments products and technical support services.
  • Apply technical knowledge to identify solutions to a diverse range of customer issues. Investigate customer's' product performance problems.
  • With Sales Management, define, implement, monitor, and communicate the technical part of the Account Plan to customers. Coordinate product specification requirements with customers in assigned regions and align with other areas for global accounts. Responsible for valid promotion and professional sell of products to achieve customer approvals in line with Sales objectives. Accountable for delivering value-adding technical projects to customers utilizing and championing 6-sigma methodologies where appropriate.
  • Provide training to end users on the proper use and care of INEOS Pigments products. Develop and provide technical product training and high-level product and process knowledge of a technical nature to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of customer-formulated products, manufacturing processes, and product needs. Gather market intelligence on customer and market trends.
  • Work with R&D to provide applications expertise to New Product Development (NPD) programs and participate in NPD teams. Apply broad engineering/scientific techniques, processes, and criteria using judgment in making adaptations or modifications. Deliver product development and applications development projects on time, in scope, and on budget.
