    The Human Resource Generalist provides direction and support to business units in the areas of staffing, recruiting, employee relations, conflict resolution, communication,

  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation; works to maintain a union-free environment at Plant 2
  • Assists with employee communications and feedback through meetings, suggestion programs, surveys, focus groups, one-on-one meetings, etc.
  • Leads the Plant 2 job posting and recruitment process to identify motivated employees to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the Company and the Ashtabula Complex.
  • Candidate Sourcing & Screening: Knowledge of and ability to pre-select suitable candidates for first and further interviews within the organization; the ability to attract and qualify candidates for immediate job vacancies or as potential long-term job candidates; knowledge of methods, tools and techniques for evaluating qualifications
  • Interviewing & Selection: Knowledge of interviewing concepts and techniques; ability to conduct a conversation with another person to gather required information; ability to identify an appropriate candidate for employment, promotion or transfer through the review and analysis of an individual's attributes and abilities.
  • Recruiting System Management: Knowledge of and ability to establish, maintain, and update a recruiting system in order to manage an organization's entire recruiting process
  • Leads job description update project to the INEOS Pigments format.
  •  Manage HR related forms – complete SAP forms, new hire, address changes, pay changes, transfer forms, beneficiaries, miscellaneous benefits, etc.
  • Maintains confidential and non-routine information
  • Interfaces effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Leads the recruiting effort for the Ashtabula Complex
  • Coordinates AAP and Records Retention for the Ashtabula Complex
  • Complies with and protects employees and the Company relative to all existing governmental and labor laws and government reporting requirements including EEO, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, and HIPAA; counsels managers and superintendents on these laws and regulations and HR issues
  • Monitors the implementation of performance improvement process with non-performing employees 
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, Human Resources or related field required.
  • HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM considered a plus
  • A minimum of  five (5) years prior experience in human resources in a manufacturing 
  • A minimum of three (3) years recruiting experience in the manufacturing environment. 
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required; HRIS, SAP  experience preferred.

  • HR Legal and Regulatory Environment: Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices.
  • Organizational Change Management: Ability to manage the successful and smooth transition from current to desired culture, practices, structure, and overall organizational environment.
  • HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures: Knowledge of and ability to uphold the organization's and industry's standards, procedures and policies regarding human resources management.
  • Information Capture: Knowledge of the processes and the ability to identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized, understandable and easily retrievable manner.
  • Confidential Investigations: Knowledge of and ability to implement confidential investigation and resolution processes concerning harassment complaints.
