Job Objective 

As a member of the INEOS Pigments leadership team, the Ashtabula Site Director is accountable for and leads the operations for INEOS Pigments, to provide overall leadership and set the strategy for the safe, reliable, legally compliant, environmentally sound and profitable manufacture of Pigments products.  Key accountabilities are improved SHE & plant Reliability/OEE performance, profit and loss budgetary accountability, and achievement of near and long-term operating goals.

Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to: 

  • Plan, develop, and implement strategy for safely managing INEOS Pigments operations including Manufacturing, Maintenance and Reliability, Quality, SHE, Engineering & Process Development.  
  • Lead the business manufacturing activities to deliver Safety, Health and Environmental performance, in line with overall business strategy, the INEOS 20 Safety Principles and legislative requirements. 
  • Deliver the EBITDA, production volumes (reliability), quality requirements, variable cost efficiencies, and fixed cost targets through strong leadership of the Ashtabula site management team and their direct reports. 
  • Develop and execute CAPEX strategies required to achieve ongoing business results effectively and align with future business needs
  • Develop the manufacturing strategy and lead inputs, review and contribution to overall business strategy. 
  • Partner with commercial and R&D teams to develop new site opportunities
  • Enhance overall production and quality performance competitiveness within the manufacturing assets
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and decision making, to ensure managers have the knowledge and resources needed to effectively operate INEOS operations 
  • Present Safety and Operational updates at the INEOS Pigments Board meetings, attended by INEOS Enterprises Board members.
  • Ensure management team has the skills necessary to facilitate change and manage personnel (including performance, compensation, succession planning and discipline)
  • Assure compliance with HR policies and applicable state/federal laws
  • Oversee and set the Labor Relations strategy and direction for both manufacturing plants, unionized and non-unionized environment
  • Manage robust communication process 


Qualifications: 

  • B.S. degree in engineering, manufacturing management or other related discipline
  • More than 10 years of manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of the operating environment.  
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is required to demonstrate required leadership competencies.
  • Membership of a professional engineering body/institution is preferred 
  • Experience working in a US union environment preferred. 
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment, and site. 
  • Take a leadership role in influencing and developing policies and standards for all areas of manufacturing.  
  • Subject matter knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a production plant.. 
  • Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques used to create and support an environment that meets the needs of the organization. 
  • Knowledge of the procedures and programs in place in the organization to ensure employee safety; ability to take appropriate action in case of an emergency.
  • Take responsibility to meet business objectives and deliver results.
