INEOS Pigments is currently seeking a Sr Scientist, Product Development, Technology & Innovation candidate to join the Technology and Innovation group. The Sr Scientist, Product Development, Technology & Innovation candidate will be under the direction of the Head of T&I but works week to week independently or as part of a team as required to apply techniques using optical and electron microscopy in evaluating and characterizing materials Manufacturing and Commercial support and/or leading to new and improved TiO2 pigment products.

Key activities include:

  • This position will apply good laboratory practices in following standard operating procedures as directed by the Head of T&I.
  • Familiarity with optical and electron microscopy tools to evaluate failure modes, improve process materials or lead to new and improved pigment products.
  • The individual should be able to identify technology areas needing improvement, develop plans to mitigate problems, carry out and/or improve existing test methods that will benefit productivity as well as maintain laboratory equipment and make recommendations to upgrade laboratory work processes.
  • Expectations include working with other T&I, Manufacturing and Commercial teams, and when needed, take leadership roles to achieve project goals.
  • The incumbent should possess critical analytical skills and be adept at utilizing solid decision–making tools.

About You

  • PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field with 0–5 years of experience; Master’s degree with 3–10 years; or Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years in an industrial setting.
  • Proven ability to execute, complete, and defend research projects.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, SAP, Excel, and Minitab.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Sound judgment, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and planning capabilities.
  • Knowledge of chemical process operations and distribution.
  • Comfortable using advanced IT tools and applications at the user level.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

 

Schedule/Hours

This is a salaried exempt, day shift position
