Chemical Operator  Ashtabula Plant 1

Responsibilities Include:

  • Make blends of pigments by chemical treatment, operate wet treatment, filtering and drying pigments, grind dry pigments, and operate all equipment associated with these phases of the operation.

  • Make up chemical solutions, make necessary tests, read, compute and record data.

  • Take samples, maintain log sheets and inventory records.

  • Receive and unload material from tank vehicles, load tank vehicles, check/weigh tank vehicles as required on Plant scales.

  • Unplug and clean out lines and equipment, unload, transport and stack materials and supplies as directed, clean and inspect tank vehicles.

  • Retrieve material from warehouse, operate lift trucks and related equipment.

  • Perform relief work in classification, relieve service operators as needed and coordinate work with other operators.

  • Operators make patrol checks of area as needed and perform work in accordance with safety regulations and standard job procedures.

  • Other duties including maintain a clean and safe work area are as required and assigned.

  • This is a safety critical position.

  • Must adhere to the INEOS Pigments Process Safety & Behavioral Principals and Life Saving Rules.

Depending on the area in which work is being performed, a process operator will work indoors and/or outdoors where there is exposure to the elements. In some areas there is exposure to vapors, wetness and steam. In other areas some dust and discoloring compounds are encountered.

Chemical operators will have a rotating shift work schedule. That consists of working a combination of days, evenings nights and working weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • You must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Three or more years of experience in manufacturing is required. Candidates with experience in chemical manufacturing are preferred.

  • Must be capable of performing all the essential job functions.

  • Must have experience and a working knowledge of industrial safety processes, LO/TO, PSM, confined space, hazardous communication, fall protection, etc.
